The year is 2029 and artificial intelligence has continued to develop at a staggering rate.  Eight World AIs have been introduced in different regions of the world to guide humanity. The Portal, a phenomenon that allows access to the alien Void is discovered by two  Australian scientists. The Void seems to manipulate space to form a conduit for traversing  the vastness of space almost instantaneously.

A tenacious journalist and government-supported groups become aware of the discovery  and attempts to appropriate Portal technology are immediately launched. Seeking to  protect their research, and fearing for their own safety, the scientists engage a group of  uniquely qualified specialists who bravely faces ever escalating threats from around the  globe, and alien dangers from within the Void.

Exploration of the void leads to encounters with alien life-forms, strange new worlds and an alien AI, constructed long ago. The battle for the Portal escalates as alien encounters  become real and alien societies take note of earth.
