It is the winter of 1795. The Cape is still in Dutch hands, but not for long. The English lie at anchor at Simon's Town.

In 1795 Dan Sleigh returns to the early Cape history which his Eilande so stunningly portrayed. 1795 won NB's Groot Romanwedstryd 2015, under the title Die laaste goeie man.
